DAY 1 - 7. 12 am
Farid aka (insert any of his aliases) walked on the crisp grass, he didn't have an definite location to head towards, Hell, how could he when he just found out Ms Kwa, now ex - DVPA and MMR lecturer, was in cahoots with the government. It was a conspiracy.
He shuffled his feet aimlessly, until he reached the front steps of a mansion. He dashed towards the residence in a record breaking speed, stopping at a mirror layered window.
"I never thought I could fall in love with a man until one day when I looked in the mirror," he fawned as he picked invisible lint off his vest and tweaked his hair in a manner that screamed GAY.
"Now back to business, I'll see you later, Fredelicious," he winked at his other self before approaching the door in a cautious fashion. The door opened in silence, the hinges were well oiled, signifying that the residence was inhibited. He scouted the first level before proceeding to the second where he noted clothes were strewn without a care on the stairs.
"A little impatient here, are we," he smirked as he padded along the corridor reaching the last room, surprised to find the door locked. A scheming look reflected in his eyes, as he retrieved a comb from his pocket.
What now, another narcissistic moment? He twisted the bottom of the comb, revealing a metal pick, as he reminisced his past. He used to be a hair salon burglar, breaking in them under the waning moonlight, stealing hair sprays and dyes. He had ceased his thieving ways after a painful lesson, when the salon owners had set high voltage metal grills in place of the old grills and locks. He was jolted and burnt, his hair ruined, thus explaining the current disarray.
With a sound click, the door slid open and he stood, stupefied. He was greeted with a large 41 inch LCD TV surrounded by countless monitors mounted on the far wall. The small monitors focused on each of his remaining classmates. A long control panel separated him from the monitors, buttons and dials flashing ever so frequently.
"Oh that's Juan Hui," he wrinkled his nose in disgust as he spotted the thin man running like Hell was at his heels. "And that's Bob, oh. Eww!"
He was jolted back to his senses by a resounding alarm. He looked at the central screen which now flashed "Sound only". Flustered, he pounded on every button to stop the jarring noise. It stopped, only to be preceded by a booming low voice.
"Agent Ping, there has been a change of plans, the game is to be extended for another 2 days. I don't have time to watch the proceedings. I haven't finished marking this stack of PRMP papers, dammit. Will keep you posted, I uh will go back to marking my papers."
Farid listened intently, picking up another voice in the background, "Hey coffee break, let's go." This Dennis enjoying life now, the two of us stuck here marking papers," the voice bemoaned before a buzz came on, signalling the broken connection.
Farid pondered as he sat down in a swivel chair in front of the panel, spinning like the mad fool he was. He began piecing the clues together. Dennis, PRMP papers, coffee break? What could it possibly mean?
"Ugh, this is hurting my head, I'm feeling faint," he placed his hand over his forehead and complained, this behaviour seemingly alike to that of Jessica Simpson's.
Half an hour later (I'm sure we have all guessed who it is)
"Oh my god, it's Rajan! He's the mastermind. It must be, he was from MINDEF. No, he is most definitely still in the organisation, no wonder his area resembled the Hiroshima war site! It was all a disguise, a cover to conceal his real operations!" The other voice in the background. He was certain it was Andrew Ang and he seemed aware of the operation as well. What is this, did every DMC lecturer know about this sadistic ploy?
Day 1 - 7.15 am
Dong shifted his daypack on his shoulder while he balanced his SMG with another hand. The sky was overcast, flashes of lightning threatening the onslaught of a thunderstorm. This was draining, he had never been this keen on his senses. The seriousness of this situation and most importantly his survival, demanded him to be on his toes. One wrong move and he might end up knocking on Heaven. He checked his map, turning in it every possible way before he shoved the offending piece of paper into his daypack.
"I can't fucking read it!" Dong blasphemed, he felt like he had been walking in circles. Sluggish, he plopped down and rummaged his daypack for rations, his weapon lay by his side idly. Fishing out a bag of Doritos, he flashed a triumphant smile. At least Lady Luck was on his side, he had a fine weapon and even Doritos, his favourite snack for rations. At the corner of his eyes, he noted a metallic object glistening under the canopy of trees, cleverly concealed among the unkempt grass.
Steeling himself, he rose quietly, searching for a small animal. An unknowing peacock was seized and immediately tossed towards the ominous glint. He heard a loud 'SNAP' and heard the spurt of blood.
'An animal trap,' Dong thought to himself. He hid himself in the shadows and waited for the supposed assailant to appear. Within minutes, he heard a rustling in the bushes, a bulky figure stalked up to check on his spoils.
It registered as Bob. Dong sprung out of the shadows and aimed at Bob, better be safe than sorry.
"I mean you no harm, I need your help but I need to be assured that you won't pull something crazy."
Bob nodded, his hands held up.
"It's not safe, I'll explain as we go along," Dong slackened his grip on the SMG as he tried to retrace his steps.
Half an hour later, they were out of the forest and in front of the mansion. Bob had taken the liberty to lead the zero-direction sensed Dong back to the mansion while digesting the facts that Dong had presented to him.
Day 1 - 7.30 am
Eugene licked his dry lips as he made his way to the deserted house in C8, he was sure someone would be there, he had a strong feeling about that. And he was proven right. In the house Joan, laid asleep on the wooden floor, a line of drool dribbled from the corner of her mouth, leading to a puddle.
Eugene cringed in disgust. He spotted two daypacks, deducing that her other companion was already awake and may be around here or she had already killed someone. With some quick thinking he ruled out the latter, sure that Joan was too absorbed in her own world to give any heed to the game. He would have to take her out ASAP, before the other person came back. He removed Alwyn's steel wire from his daypack, seeking a silent and swift kill. He crept towards the sleeping form and looped the wire carefully around her neck.
With a vicious tug and vice-like grip, the wire severed air from his victim's lungs. She thrashed wildly, her arms flailing around, struggling against a losing battle. To make things worse, she accidentally bit her tongue, blood pooling in her mouth, She sputtered droplets of blood making a bloody mess around her. Her eyes rolled back as she slowly slipped into cold death. An angry red line ran jagged around her neck, which was twisted at an inhumane angle. Her bloody tongue hung loosely over her lower lip, the red liquid streaming to the tip. Joan was dead.
Eugene stepped over the limp body and picked up the daypacks. Both were strangely light, he opened one and was surprised to find nothing in it, not even a single scrap of ration. There was a hole at the bottom of the bag. He searched the bag and found Joan's handphone in the front pocket.
'Why am I even surprised. She didn't even notice she was dropping her stuff like Gretel,' Eugene rolled his eyes and moved on to the second day pack.
"Rations, rations, what the hell, that's the weapon? A friggin pair of chopsticks?" Eugene scoffed, cursing his ill luck while shoving the rations into his daypack and fled.
Day 1 - 7.20 am
Nisa walked on the gravel floor as she swung her chain-sickle in fast circles while she swatted her other hand around her head. She was getting accustomed to her weapon, considering the fact that she had wielded one of these before when she tiao dang-ed.
"I'm a walking blood bank," she mumbled as she flicked another mozzie off her adding one more casualty to her mental list.
She was out in the open, no trees above her head, protected only among the rocks. But it was comforting to know that she was on elevated ground, giving her the advantage of a good vantage point.
She took out her map and tsk-ed. Her map was in Japanese. She thought it was a sick joke and wonder if the rest had their maps in other languages. She stared hard into the map, the characters on the map looked all the same. She laid down and shut her eyes. She spent the entire night keeping watch to see if anyone approached.
*Crackling sound*
She sat up, as she strained her ears to locate the source of intrusion. Behind her cover, she observed a fido dido-ish silhouette. As the figure loomed closer, she could make out the shine of very executive looking glasses. It was Juan Hui.
He looked tired as well, his clothes ripped and his face covered in grime.
'Ho, you don't see this often,' Nisa mused as she picked out the fact that he was unarmed and missing his daypack. She stepped out of her cover and called to the weary looking guy.
"Oi, Juan Hui. What happen to you?
"HUH, you mean you don't know ar?" He raised his chin in a sorry attempt at being haughty.
"Oh pray tell. I really don't know, tell me leh," Nisa scowled, flashing him the finger as she imagined herself kicking him somewhere painful.
"Please don't crap with me now," he wagged his index finger disapprovingly at Nisa.
'I, Tan Juan Hui, Honourable Vice President of SB Club, The (supposed) squash pro, Class Rep for 3 semesters, holder of 213 CCA points and Man destined for the top of the corporate ladder (what a freakin long title) shall not be daunted by a mere Assistant Class Rep with less than half of my overflowing CCA points,' he smirked inwardly as he approached the minah.
11 students remaining.
von's notes : Cliffhanger. This is getting a little too long. I may not be able to keep to the 10 chapters. Well, this is the first time I wrote a independent chapter by myself. Pardon me if you find my writing bad. Tune into the next chapter for the mystery of the mansion, Nisa and CL's confrontation and the appearances of our beloved lecturers.

A7 - Forest 2
Yeo Shuya Jessica(Female Student No. 9), a quiet student in the class who was the considered to be among the most intelligent, even in the DMC course of the previous semester based on her academic results. Owing it to her consistency in her work and paying attention in classes, not only has she found the lessons interesting, it has also become essential if she wanted to get into a good university and achieve her dream of becoming a journalist in the future.
When her name was called, she grabbed her assigned daypack and ran all the way northeast of the school, ending up in Forest 2. She hid between the bushes, all the while grumbling about why she had to go for this field trip and get caught in this mad whirl of events when she could have spent the hours to sleep. Whipping out her Nintendo DS, she switched on the console and pressed the buttons fervently. A few hours later, the battery died out. Muttering something incoherent, she stood up, now that she had cooled her head. She had never thought that such an absurd thing would happen to herself. All she could do was hide there and pray that someone will come and rescue her. After all, how could a clever girl like her die out here alone? Surely someone would hear of it and rescue her. But knowing how thorough the government was, there would be little chance of help from the outside.
Her weapon was a nice little M -1911 pistol
Not known to her classmates, Jessica was actually extremely intuitive. She was actually smarter than her classmates, being cool-headed even with the gift of knowledge. She knew the secrets to success in life. Unfortunately, this was a scenario she'd never imagine would happen, but no matter already, she was in it and had to find a way out.
Her life was not as quiet as it had seemed to her classmates. She wasn't all books. In fact, that was the impression she had accidentally delivered. Jessica was indeed a typical hip and trendy girl. She was much more organised than everyone else, so it made her look extra studious than everyone.
The sound of footsteps broke Jessica's chain of thoughts. Panicking, her heart pumped erratically. A thin sheen of sweat covered her upper lip and she wiped it away. She was a bit traumatised after witnessing how Yvonne had killed Yin Yin. Utterly disgusting and gruesome. If Yvonne could do this to her close friend, then Jessica couldn't imagine what Yvonne could do to her. The footsteps were getting louder and more distinct. She started to worry for her life if it was Yvonne.
*light footsteps*
Peering through the foliage carefully, she caught a flash of a fair, almost white face beneath brown hair.
"What the hell am I to do now? Stay calm... don't let her see me, and I won't be another corpse like Yinyin. That's right, I can't die now." She thought to herself quietly.
Yvonne walked towards the bushes without noticing that Jessica was there. She stretched the white hand of hers, grabbed some of the baby's breath on the ground and placed it behind her ear. A wry smile played on her lips, she looked hot with it on.
Jessica was trying to hold her breath to prevent any sound from escaping. She thought to herself, "Better get out of here. Don't take any chances." Her daypack was about 30cm away from her. She tried stretching her hand inch by inch in an attempt to not alarm Yvonne.
Yvonne, on the other hand, caught sight of a big greenish object on the left side of the bushes in front of her. She bent down and scrutinized it. "Oh, lucky me, a daypack, finders keepers." Yvonne said under her breath.
Without hesitation, Yvonne grabbed the daypack, swung it over her shoulder and walked away without noticing that Jessica's hand was just an inch away from it.
"Ahh.. my daypack.. GRRR!! That was so close!" Jessica mumbled to herself.
Day 1 - 7 am
Highway Blues starts to play over the loud speakers located all over the island.
"Good morning everybody!! Doing your morning exercise now?? I hope so. You need to be fit in this game if you want to survive! I have a good news for you people. Or some may think of it as bad news. Anyway, we have another student down!! Good job!! Female Student No. 13, Koo Baoxuan Jasmine, and that has added another chance to you guys' survival! I heard the place she died was in a little mess. Do try to stay out of C1 unless you are interested in the... erm... stench. The forbidden zone added for the next hour is C7. It will be activated at 8 am. Anybody who doesn't want to prolong their lives can always check that place out. It's beautiful!"
End of announcement.
STILL, 12 students remaining.
von's note: Exceptional. An 11 month hiatus of this tale. Spanning over an entire academic year when fictionally, only less than a day has passed. Since, no one's writing, I'm picking up the pen, or rather the keyboard to bring the story to an end. Brace yourself for more deaths, for this piece of work shall only be a 10 chapter production, unless intervention from others (which is highly unlikely).
